Women using HupSix home workout system for music-driven cardio and agility training

Is HupSix Gear Safe?

Safe by Design

We’ve heard the concerns—will it snap? Will it move? Could it fly back at me?

The HupSix system is built for safety first.

The Bag Stays in Place—Here’s How

The HupSix bag is filled with 20 pounds of Pennsylvania steel shot and sits on a neoprene non-slip mat. It is grippy, flexible, and used to keep the bag from sliding.

Can it still move? Yes.

If it moves, it means you're either too far from the bag or pulling with too much force.

  • The resistance is not like traditional resistance bands.

  • The goal is to work with the tension so it doesn't go slack or that you don't take the bag "for a walk."

  • It’s one way you build proprioception—your body’s natural sense of position and movement.

If your movement is right, the gear stays put.
The gear provides important feedback about how you are moving.
Your size or strength is not a factor; it's all about how you move.

The Resistance Feels Different on Purpose

Again, HupSix is not used like traditional resistance band workouts.

The bungee is intentionally light so you can move with a full, fluid range of motion.

  • The resistance feels more like swimming than strength training.

  • You hold the handles the entire workout.

  • It isn't 15 reps and rest, so your body stays engaged the entire time building functional strength.

The gear allows for movement you can't do with any other training equipment.
That's why it's patented!

The Swivel That Keeps You Moving—Tangle-Free

Built into the bag is a military-grade Rock Exotica swivel—the same kind used by rock climbers and firefighters.

It’s securely sewn into the bag and allows for full 360° movement without getting tangled.

That means your turns, twists, and transitions feel smooth and uninterrupted. It’s one of the reasons HupSix feels different—more fluid, more athletic, and less frustrating.

It’s Been Tested. A lot.

Some people ask:
Can the bungee snap back and hit me?

No.
It is one long bungee that connects the two handles together and is secured to the swivel with a cow knot so it cannot come towards your body.

  • If you accidentally drop a handle, it will go towards the bag and may bounce a little.

  • But it usually lands right on the bag like a stopper.

We’ve tested these bags and bungees for 5+ years—in classes and at home.

Every component is military-grade, securely fastened, and covered by a lifetime guarantee.

The Socks

The HupSix socks go over your sneakers and help you twist and turn, preventing strain on ankles, knees, and hips.

  • The half socks are for smooth floors.

  • The full-foot version is for carpeted floors.

The Mat and Your Floor

As for the mat:
It’s never stained a floor in testing, but all floors are different.

Like any yoga mat, it's smart to shift it from time to time. Don't leave it in direct sunlight.

  • The bag includes elastic straps on all 4 sides to easily store the handles, the bungee, the socks, and the mat.

  • When not in use, we recommend storing everything in the bag.

  • Don't leave the mat sitting under the bag or in direct sunlight.

Our Promise

All HupSix gear is made in the USA and backed by a lifetime guarantee. If the bungee ever loses elasticity, send it back and we’ll re-string it for free.

Final Thought

We’ve put a lot of time and effort into making sure HupSix is safe to use and works as intended to give you a one of a kind cardio workout that improves the way you move.
